You are here: HomeCommunityBig Bass Lake

Big Bass Lake is a planned leisure community on top of the Poconos. Our primary activity is the sale of homesites. However, many of our property owners have built homes and are interested in renting them for a weekend, week, month or season.

"We believe people should have the chance to experience the wild and free, the timeless quiet and the beauty of nature. This is the reason for Big Bass Lake.

Our goal is to continue the Lakes heritage which began over a hundred years ago when Norwegian-born Lars Larsen left the commercial fishing industry to build summer vacation cottages on Long Island. They represent the fourth generation of a family dedicated to bringing other American families close to Nature by offering highest quality vacation living at affordable prices".

Big Bass Lake is everything you could ever want in leisure living.

• Playgrounds
• Picnic Areas
• Tennis courts
• Ice fishing
• Skating
• Three large private lakes
• Largemouth Bass
• Clean Sand Beaches
• Waters for Canoeing and Sailing
• Indoor Pool
• Recreation Center

There are three large private lakes brimming with largemouth bass, wide, clean sand beaches with protected swimming areas and waters for canoeing and sailing; in winter, ice fishing and skating. A sparkling mountain stream where excellent trout fishing beckons. Fully equipped playgrounds, picnic areas and six professional Laykoid surface tennis courts, are some of the many amenities.

Two Big Recreation Centers for vacationing the year 'round. One has a beautiful indoor pool, snack shop, tree top lounge, sauna, and tow rope. The other recreation center adjoins the large heated outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts and basketball court and contains the tennis pro shop, locker rooms, game rooms and facilities for major adult social functions. It's all here now, Summer or Winter, at incomparable Big Bass Lake.

Big Bass Lake is a creation of brothers Lou and John Larsen. They represent the fourth generation of a family dedicated to bringing other American families close to nature by offering highest quality vacation living at affordable prices.

This proud heritage began over a hundred years ago when Norwegian-born Lars Larsen left the commercial fishing industry to build summer vacation cottages on Long Island. The tradition of leisure home building continuing through four generations is perhaps unparalleled in the industry. The Larsens' reputation in this field is impeccable. Their accomplishments, remarkable.
